PEmicro’s Multilink Universal FX is a high-speed hardware interface that allows PC software to debug and program a target processor through its debug port. The Multilink connects to the PC via USB and to the target through standard debug connectors. It can provide power to the target.
The Multilink Universal FX combines support in a single interface for many NXP architectures, including MCX, LPC, i.MX RT, Kinetis®, S32, Trimension®, Vybrid, MPC55xx/56xx/57xx, DSC, S12Z, ColdFire V1, ColdFire V2-4, HCS08, RS08 and HC(S)12(X). It also supports NXP’s 683xx and HC16 legacy architectures.
The FX model features communications speeds up to 10X faster than the Multilink Universal, depending upon architecture. It can also provide 3.3V or 5V power to the target MCU.
The Multilink Universal FX’s enhanced speed and reliability make it ideal for development. It is natively supported by NXP’s MCUXpresso for Visual Studio Code, MCUXpresso IDE, S32 Design Studio for ARM®, S32 Design Studio for S32 Platform, S32 Design Studio for Power Architecture, recent and legacy versions of CodeWarrior®, PEmicro software applications, and toolchains from IAR, Keil, JetBrains, COSMIC, and others.
The Multilink Universal FX provides powerful features such as semihosting, SWO data/event capture, real-time expressions and more, which are natively integrated into NXP’s MCUXpresso software.
