The P5040DS is a high-performance computing, evaluation and development platform that supports the quad-core 64-bit P5040 device. The board, with its 2.2 GHz P5040 processor and rich I/O mix is intended for development of P5040 in networking, telecom and industrial applications, where its high performance, high-efficiency core and integrated accelerators make it very well suited as a control plane processor.
