The S32 Design Studio for S32 Platform is a complimentary integrated development environment (IDE) for automotive and ultra-reliable Arm®-based microcontrollers and processors that enable editing, compiling and debugging of designs.

The S32DS for S32 Platform offers designers a straightforward development tool with no code-size limitations, based on open-source software including Eclipse IDE, GNU Compiler Collection (GCC) and GNU Debugger (GDB).

NXP software, along with the S32 Design Studio IDE, provides a comprehensive enablement environment that reduces development time.

  • GNU toolchain with NXP GCC Compilers (versions 6.3.1, 9.2, 10.2, 11.4) for bare metal Arm 32-bit and 64-bit and Linux® target, integrated in IDE
  • Includes NewLib, NewLib Nano, EWL and EWL Nano libraries
  • Semihosting for Arm 32 and AArch64® bare-metal toolchains
  • GDB with Python support
  • Built-in GDB debugger interface can be used in Eclipse or driven from the command line with support for these interface hardware:
    • S32 Debug Probe
    • P&EMultilink/Cyclone/OpenSDA (with P&E GDB Server)
    • Segger J-Link
  • S32 Debug Probe support provided with S32 Debugger and S32 Trace
  • Support for Lauterbach, TASKING and IAR debuggers

  • S32 Configuration Tool framework with the pin, clock, peripheral, DCD, IVT and DDR configuration tools
  • New Project wizard to create bare metal or SDK projects
  • The wizard to create projects from project examples

  • Support for importing AUTOSAR® MCAL configuration to a custom SDK
