NXP's product lifecycle encompasses the entire duration of a product existence. To assist our customers in making informed decisions when choosing products, we categorize each product status as follows: development, qualification, active, not recommended for new designs (NRND), end of life (EOL), and no longer manufactured (NLM).

Product Lifecycle Status Definitions


Status Description
PREPRODUCTION Contains information on a preproduction product. Specifications and information are subject to change without notice. Preproduction parts include those under the Development and Qualification status. For additional information contact support or your sales representative.
Development Part is not yet fully qualified by NXP to be production ready. May be able to provide engineering samples.
Qualification Part is not yet fully qualified by NXP to be production ready. May be able to provide samples for customer qualification.
ACTIVE Fully qualified to meet NXP quality and reliability requirements. Available for production quantity orders.
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NEW DESIGNS (NRND) While existing customers can still order the part, NXP does not recommend the part be designed into new end products. No discontinuance decision has been made, and all minimum longevity commitments will be honored. When a decision is made, it will be discontinuance process (e.g with a discontinuance notification to existing customers).
END OF LIFE (EOL) The part is being discontinued. Orders can be placed until the last time buy date. Shipments against last time buy orders are expected to be completed by the last time delivery date.
NO LONGER MANUFACTURED (NLM) NXP no longer accepts orders for the part and will no longer manufacture the part.
