The OMPCA9957LEDEV, PCA9957 evaluation board, features LEDs for color mixing, blinking and dimming demonstrations. A graphical interface allows the user to easily explore the different functions of the driver.

The board can be connected in series with other SPI-bus demoboards.

  • PCA9957: 24-Channel SPI Serial Bus 32 MA/5.5 V Constant-Current LED Driver

Features

Gradation control

  • Each channel can be assigned to one of six gradation control groups
  • Programmable gradation time and rate for ramp-up and/or ramp-down operations
  • Programmable step time from 0.5 ms (min) to 512 ms (max)
  • Programmable final ramp-up and hold-on current/time
  • Programmable brightness current output adjustment

Power

  • Supply voltage: 2.7 V to 5.5 V
  • Low standby current (170 µA)

LED current

  • 32 mA / 5.5 V output drive per channel
  • Output current accuracy:
    ±4% channel to channel
    ±6% chip to chip
  • Output current adjusts through resistor at REXT pin

Interface

  • 10 MHz SPI interface
  • Output Enable (/OE) pin
