Five- Ports AVB and TSN Automotive Ethernet Switch
The SJA1105TEL Ethernet switch offers a flexible solution for implementing modular and cost-optimized Electronic Control Units (ECUs) using Ethernet as the backbone for control applications.
- The SJA1105TEL extends the SJA1105EL features with a set of Time-Sensitive Networking (IEEE TSN) standards that enable the deterministic partitioning of the network’s bandwidth between critical/control and non-critical/best-effort traffic.
- Besides implementing control-application over Ethernet, these features are also ideal for the simple integration of modular Advanced Driving Assistance Systems. For example, a single rear-view camera scaling up to full surround view application.

Deterministic Ethernet
- Strict bandwidth allocation between critical and non-critical traffic
- Deterministic network delays and jitter of critical traffic
- Enables the definition of tight control loops based on Ethernet
Per-stream policing
- Monitor exact rate of arrival of control frames
Five individually configurable ports each capable of running at 10/100/1000Mbps
- Flexible ECU design by supporting any 10/100/1000 BASE-TX PHYs
- 5 Gbps throughput enables non-blocking 1 Gbps data-rate on all ports
- Simple ECU update from 100 Mbps to 1000 Mbps
- MII/RMII/RGMII interfaces available on all ports
Full support for Audio/Video Bridging (AVB) and IEEE 1588v2 standards
- Enable the implementation of a fully synchronized network
- AVB SW available by NXP or third party SW vendors
- Support for hardware-based synchronization for industrial applications
IEEE 802.1X port-based authentication and data-rate monitoring
- Provide the provisions to enable device authentification over Ethernet
- Block denial-of-service attacks and babbling idiot errors
Traffic mirroring and flexible VLAN manipulation
- Enables the implementation of a powerful network debugging
- Enables diagnosis purposes and traffic labeling of such traffic via dedicated VLAN tags
