NXP Foundation
Founded in 2013, the NXP Foundation is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting diverse advancement in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education around the globe.
We live in a technology-driven world where our lives can be made safer and more productive through modern electronics. In an effort to continue to drive innovative solutions, the NXP Foundation promotes STEM education and encourages innovation that helps to make a difference.
Donations to Education
In addition to supporting non-profit organizations / charities in 2023, NXP provided financial donations to several universities around the globe:

Arizona State University
The $250,000 contribution that NXP gave to Arizona State University was used to support the following:
NXP Semiconductors Endowed Scholarship Endowment ($100,000)
Offers scholarship support for students with a 3.5 GPA studying in one of the following degree programs: Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Systems Engineering.
Microelectronics Commons – Workforce Development ($150,000)
Funds allocated to this program will be used to provide discretionary faculty support for the Microelectronics Commons workforce development for the building of course curriculum in the areas of RF Circuit Design in 5G/6G.
NXP Semiconductors Diversity Funding ($50,000)
Funds allowed to this program will provide three years of support to the following diverse student organizations:
- National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)
- Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)
- Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
- Women in Science and Engineering (WISE)
Austin Community College
The new NXP Advanced Manufacturing Lab at Austin Community College will help support and extend educational curriculum and resources for both adult and high school students entering the semiconductor industry and other advanced manufacturing occupations.
The lab was announced in 2023 as part of a $250,000 donation to the Austin Community College District (ACC) Foundation in support of the school’s Engineering Technology and Advanced Manufacturing Program. In addition to the lab, NXP’s donation includes scholarship funds targeting candidates from the Advanced Manufacturing Academy.
The NXP Advanced Manufacturing Lab demonstrates NXP’s ongoing commitment to promote and improve STEM education in the local Austin community.
Maricopa Community College
NXP announced a $100,000 donation to Mesa Community College (MCC) and Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) in Arizona. This scholarship fund is in support of the school’s Automated Industrial Technology (AIT) program.
Prairie View A&M University
NXP donated $150,000 to Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) to be used to fund 15 $10,000 student scholarships over a three-year period.
TU Eindhoven & TU Graz
NXP donated 525K euro to two European universities in 2023:
- TU Graz, with the expectation that the 450K euro would be used to fund scholarships and a UWB Lab
- TU Eindhoven, with 75K euro to be used as a rolling contribution to a scholarship program for MmW/RF that was initiated in 2020.
