Designed for automotive applications, MAC72xx devices are members of 32 bit Flash-based family microcontrollers. The MAC7200 family's pin compatibility enables users to choose between different memory and peripheral options for scalable designs.

The family targets a range of mid- to high-end automotive safety applications and is optimized for restraint control (airbag).

  • Up to 70 MHz (bus frequency) across range of -40ºC to 150ºC junction temperature
  • Enhanced Direct Memory Access (eDMA) controller
  • Cross-bar bus switch (XBS) to support efficient transfers between embedded Flash EEPROM memory, system RAM, on-chip peripherals and - using optional External Bus Interface (EBI) - external devices
  • Up to 544 Kbytes of wide access Flash EEPROM partitioned into large blocks suitable for program storage and smaller blocks suitable for EEPROM emulation
  • Up to 32 Kbytes of Systems RAM
  • Asynchronous serial communications interfaces (eSCI)
  • Serial peripheral interfaces (DSPI)
  • I²C bus interface
  • Configurable 16-bit timer subsystem (eMIOS) for dual action capture/compare and output PWM
  • Multi-channel 10/12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ATD) with high accuracy and fast conversions
  • Up to 2 CAN modules (FlexCAN), compatible with CAN specification 2.0B 
  • On-chip oscillator (OSC), Phase-Locked Loop (PLL), Clock and Reset Generator (CRG) allows power consumption and performance to be adjusted to suit operational requirements
  • Nexus3 module providing real-time development capabilities inc. program trace and data trace
  • On-chip voltage regulators provide Flash, oscillator, PLL and core supply voltages from single 5V input
  • 1.5V logic supply
