Lea Yang is Senior Director Product Marketing and Business Development at NXP China. She describes NXP as a sort of “wonderland,” a platform that employees can leverage to do big things, such as building new applications, creating new opportunities, contributing to the larger industry: In short, make your dreams come true. She’s a straight talker who doesn’t mince words. We recently sat down with Lea for a frank chat.
Lea Yang: I’m tasked with the business development of NXP Greater China’s IoT smart security product market, which includes smart city transportation, secure payment, security identity authentication etc. I’m also responsible for the business development of new retail and smart supply chains.
LY: There’s no getting past the fact that digital is the future! I was inclined towards the semiconductor industry because it’s a meaningful, technology-driven field.
LY: I think competent leaders should have a strong vision, the ability to face challenges head on and the confidence to encourage their team members’ success. Be proud of your team members and appreciate their achievements, even if they’re doing better than you.
Bright minds. Bright futures. NXP team members create breakthrough technologies that advance our world. The future starts here.
LY: That you can really make a difference with your work in profound ways. Not to mention, NXP technology is ubiquitous – be it smartphones, wearable devices, smart homes, you name it. To me, NXP is a ‘wonderland,’ and I’m a pixie.
LY: It’s a wonderland of potential and opportunities and how you optimize it is up to you. I’m motivated to do my work well in this wonderland, which is meaningful and impactful, so I call myself a pixie.
LY: Don’t worry about the future, focus on the present. Carpe diem!
LY: I think it’s great that work-life balance has become such an important topic in today’s time. I’m all for it, but I have to say, I’m not quite there yet myself. It’s a work-in-progress for now
LY: Stay curious and keep acquiring knowledge. Don’t be shy to seek help or ask questions. Find someone in the company who can mentor and guide you.
