UWB technology enables secure ranging and precision sensing, creating a new dimension of spatial context for wireless devices. Trimension represents the NXP UWB portfolio, a rich collection of UWB solutions that enable secure fine ranging across automotive, mobile and IoT devices. The fine ranging and positioning capabilities of Trimension products bring precise location and convenience to a variety of use cases, including secure access control, indoor positioning, device-to-device communication and item tracking.
Each Trimension product has been designed with specific use cases in mind. To get started quickly with your next UWB application we recommend purchasing a development kit or module from one of our trusted partners.

Please first select a product from the list at the top of the page. This will take you to the product page where you can find all available documentation. Note, some documents require an NXP account.
To add a UWB controller as CoB (Chip on Board) to a system requires special equipment, skillset and certifications. UWB modules therefore simplify the design process and contribute to cost savings, e.g. by not having to invest in xGHz measurement equipment. UWB modules can also be reused easily across multiple devices or form factors.
Altogether, using a module will let you focus on the use case development and takes complexity out of the integration process.
The documentation and software is distributed by the corresponding UWB Module partner. By selecting a module, you will be guided to our partner’s page where you can access datasheets, application notes, and the required enablement software.
The targeted application is what determines the selection of the right UWB product.
If the planned application includes a tracking function, the Trimension SR040 is best suited for any type of tracking devices.
Trimension SR150 is ideally suited for the UWB enablement of all kinds of larger infrastructures, such as access control installations, indoor localization set ups and payment schemes, as well as consumer products, including TVs and gaming consoles. Several SR150 IC devices can be placed in a room as UWB anchors to help localize people and objects as they move within the room.
