JN516x/7x Product Compliance and Certification

The Amazon Premium Far-Field Evaluation Kit is designed to help commercial device manufacturers enable high quality far-field voice experiences in their products. This development kit gives manufacturers access to the same leading-edge audio technology that powers Amazons’ Echo© devices. It features a circular 7-mic array for tabletop and 360˚ far field voice activation applications, and an advanced 8-mic rectangular array for devices that are primarily used from one direction, such as devices with a display or placed near a wall. Both solutions incorporate Amazon’s proprietary software and algorithm technology for "Alexa" wake word recognition, beam forming, noise reduction, acoustic echo cancellation, and barge-in capabilities.

The Evaluation Kit includes both the circular and rectangular microphone array boards, a digital signal processer board which contains the audio processing hardware to optimize the quality of the voice signal, and a NXP Pico-Pi i.MX 7D board to execute the AVS Client Application software. All the audio processing and wakeword trigger software, drivers, and sample AVS Client Application is available via download.

The NXP products based on the JN516x and JN517x wireless microcontrollers have been tested to the compliance requirements of various certification bodies and certificates have been obtained. Links to these certificates are provided in the tables below. Some non-NXP products that are included in our kits are also listed.

The certification bodies are as follows:

  • FCC = Federal Communications Commission
  • IC = Industry Canada / Industrie Canada
  • R&TTE = Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment
  • ANATEL = Brazil Agencia Nacional De Telecomunicaçoes
  • RED = Radio Equipment Directive

Note: Where there is no linked document in the tables below, the product manufacturer should be contacted for compliance information.

Note: K32W061/41 or JN5189/88T are preferred for any new Zigbee®, Thread and Bluetooth® LE 5.0 design. No new software releases planned
