201803037F01 : MKW41Z/31Z/21Z MCUBOOT Flashloader Addition
On the effective date NXP will begin programming the MCU bootloader for Kinetis Microcontrollers (MCUBOOT) to all newly-manufactured Kinetis® KW41Z/31Z/21Z wireless microcontrollers. More information concerning the operation of this bootloader can be found in your device specific reference manual or at www.nxp.com/mcuboot.

Reason of Change
This will be a feature enhancement for Kinetis® KW41Z KW31Z and KW21Z wireless microcontrollers enabling in-system flash programming over a serial connection.
Identification of Affected Products
Units programmed with the bootloader will be identified by the package trace code corresponding to the effective date work week.
Anticipated Impact
Data sheet revision: No impact to existing datasheet
No impact to normal operation or programming is expected. However in some cases programming may fail if your programmer is not configured to erase the flash area first.
