Nowadays, the rendering of a graphical user interface (GUI) is often based on pure bitmap operations. But using this approach to implement more sophisticated use cases, like rendering animated analog gauges or wands, typically results in reduced graphical performance and a high CPU load. This can be significantly improved by using vector graphics instead. Thanks to NXP new i.MX RT1170 crossover MCU, it is possible to develop brilliant GUIs at low power by accelerating vector graphics rendering with the built-in GPU.
In this tech session, we will showcase how vector graphics can be rendered with Embedded Wizard on the i.MX RT1170 MCU, while also minimizing the overall memory footprint of the application.
