Last week, the Connectivity Standards Alliance had its first Member Meeting of the year in Chicago with
hundreds
of industry leaders and experts coming together to advance the Alliance’s technologies.
It was a full week for the NXP team who attended, contributing to dozens of sessions, meeting with partners and
customers, and showcasing our latest solutions as a demo sponsor. It was kicked off with a Fireside Chat between the
Alliance’s CEO Tobin Richardson and OpenADR Alliance Managing and Technical Director Rolf Bienert discussing trends
in
the
smart energy industry. Then Jennifer Kent, VP of Research at Parks Associates, shared her insights on the future of
smart home technology. With adoption of smart home technology accelerating, the focus is shifting to a few key areas
such as energy management, the user experience, access control and the impact of AI. It is truly about
transforming
the smart home into an intelligent and autonomous home.
The week continued with sessions ranging from use case definitions to technical implementation work in the Matter,
Zigbee, Aliro and Product Security Working Groups. The power of bringing experts together to advance these standards
was
inspiring.
NXP continues to invest strategically in areas like energy management, certification simplification and inheritance,
onboarding across different technologies, such as Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth LE, security and ambient awareness. NXP
will
also continue to expand on recent Matter releases of ecosystem control with enhanced multiadmin, including the
joint
fabric method which can be especially valuable to professional home and commercial building installations.

The networking opportunities and showcases from member companies on their technologies are always incredibly
productive.
NXP was proud to be a demo sponsor and to engage with the industry in demonstrating our latest Matter solutions
including Zigbee to Matter bridging and additional ways of commissioning Matter devices that will be released in
future
versions of Matter. We also had an Aliro Pre-Release Technology demo for access control integrating NFC, UWB,
Bluetooth
Low Energy and security. With the continued collaboration and efforts from NXP and other Alliance members, the
future of
intelligent smart homes and buildings looks brighter than ever before.
