NXP’s SN110 family enables HONOR smartphones that are shipping to Europe and other
overseas markets to perform a multitude of mobile services at once. The GSMA-compliant and -accredited eSIM solution makes it radically easier for device
manufacturers to bring consumers cellular connectivity and remote SIM
provisioning with multiple mobile network operator (MNO) subscriptions.
Flexible Control and Dynamic Security
eSIM solutions offer a number of benefits over traditional SIM cards. They
meet the complex logistical needs that come with the issuance of MNO
subscriptions to the phone, while saving space on the device. They also
contribute to a more sustainable supply chain by removing traditional plastic
SIM cards. The SN110 family is tested against all major MNOs to ensure a
frictionless experience for OEMs, MNOs and, most importantly, consumers, once
they activate the eSIM cellular service.
Recognized schemes, including CC EAL6+, GP and GSMA, attest to the high
levels of security inherent in the tamper resistant SN110 family. The onboard
eUICC and eSE promise to provide better protection of network access, MNO
assets and running services. Convergence eSIM solutions stand out for
providing additional services to the device. NXP’s SN110 family presents a
unique monolithic solution that features an eSIM next to NFC for transit,
access control and contactless payments.
Intuitive and secure mobile solutions for daily digital life.

HONOR Magic4 Pro to Embrace the Power of Convergence eSIM
All of the combined capabilities have been added to the HONOR Magic4 Pro, which can
now receive updated profiles at any time and store multiple profiles at once,
so consumers can add backup profiles or travel internationally without having
to change SIM cards. By providing 5G support to HONOR devices, users can be
assured they will get the latest MNOs’ technology support, excellent
subscriber privacy and fast connectivity on 5G-enabled networks.
“Including convergence eSIM solutions in our HONOR Magic4 Pro means we can
contribute to a more environmentally friendly footprint by avoiding the
release of non-reusable plastic parts and, in addition, meet the growing
demand for eSIM support by MNOs around the globe.”

A Connected Society
With a society that is progressively looking at mobility in a global context,
the static one-SIM-per-model approach and the need to swap SIM cards when
wanting to change the network operator doesn’t match today’s dynamic
lifestyles. The first eUICC flagship launch by HONOR supports the company’s
expansion to the European and other overseas markets, where eSIM play a key
part in mobile digitization. Market monitoring data published by
Trusted Connectivity Alliance, a global non-profit industry organization comprising leaders within the
global tamper resistant element (TRE) ecosystem, confirms that the worldwide
recognition for eSIMs is growing. “eSIM volumes continued to grow in 2021,
with shipments collectively reported by TCA members increasing 9% year-on-year
to reach 337 million units,” and “eSIM profile transactions—which refers to
the number of times an operator profile was downloaded—increased by 54% in
2021” (Trusted Connectivity Alliance, 2021).
