Our i.MX 91 applications processor family enables quick implementation of cost-effective Linux-based edge applications. The i.MX 91 processor blends high-performance processing, security and energy-efficiency at an affordable price while also providing full hardware and software scalability to i.MX 93 applications processors family.
This processor family supports a variety of Industrial and IoT applications like HMI control, gateways, energy metering, access control, EVSE, home automation, appliances, smart audio, portable medical devices and more. To ensure the i.MX 91 processor is accessible for customers to start developing and prototyping, NXP has worked with our trusted partners to offer a variety of evaluation kits (with a pre-production i.MX 91 processor) to be available beginning November 11, 2024.

The i.MX 91 processor supports NXP’s board support packages (BSPs), including NXP GitHub .
Developing, customizing and maintaining an image throughout the lifecycle is foundational to the i.MX ecosystem. Many of the partners mentioned above offer software services to manage the development and maintenance of your image including over-the-air (OTA) updates that enable compliancy with evolving cybersecurity regulations. Other partners work with software focused companies such as Witekio and Timesys that specialize in designing, building and running secure edge embedded platforms across all the Industrial and IoT segments that the i.MX 91 processor enables.
