This NXP Trace card connects to the NXP device via an Aurora SerDes communications channel. The card is selectable between 1 or 2 lane aurora channels operating at 2.5GHz and 3.125GHz, which is based upon your selections for your hardware board. The card has 4 GBytes of RAM to store very large volumes of Nexus formatted trace data.
The Trace card connects to the Gigabit TAP motherboard via a very high speed bus. Trace data is transferred to the host computer workstation running CodeWarrior® via the Gigabit TAP’s Gigabit Ethernet connection.
This upgrade kit does involve removing the cover of your current Gigabit TAP and then replacing the cover once the card is installed. See the installation instructions on the “Downloads” TAB.
The Nexus standard includes standard JTAG signals on the Trace connector. Therefore, you do not need a JTAG probe tip if you have a 22 or 70 pin Aurora connector and the Trace card/cable.
**Do not order this upgrade kit unless you have a Gigabit TAP in which to install the card. This card REQUIRES a Gigabit TAP and cannot operate without it.**
