One of the benefits of the Open RAN (O-RAN) 5G model is that it provides for open, well defined interfaces between network equipment functions.
This O-RAN definition, plus equipment vendor interoperability, enables a range of deployment schemes which benefits both existing service provider network 5G “retro-fit” build out as well as new greenfield network deployments.
This session will highlight NXP’s Layerscape Access family of programmable baseband processors and how NXP is enabling the O-RAN ecosystem to provide network operators and system players with more choices for RAN implementations.
