In-vehicle Ethernet usage is growing in the automotive environment, demanding accurate timing and guaranteed data delivery with bounded low-latency, security and reliability. The successful audio video bridging (AVB) standards have evolved into time-sensitive networking (TSN) to extend Ethernet from the automotive infotainment systems' needs to the expanded scope needed for autonomous driving. TSN provides deterministic, real-time communication over the Ethernet while supporting data collection to perform analytics, gain operational insights and increase productivity.
Green Hills and Excelfore will join NXP to introduce a safe, secure and high-performance software foundation for automotive gateways and domain controllers to run mixed-ASIL application and operating systems on a single S32G vehicle network processor and safety island. This session will show system and software engineers the complete Ethernet AVB/TSN networking stacks and the precertified ASIL D INTEGRITY real-time operating system to create a high-performance software architecture meeting critical requirement for ECU safety, secure networking with low latency, determinism and guaranteed bandwidth.
