Every year on March 8, people around the world celebrate International Women’s
Day to highlight and honor the social, economic, cultural and political
achievements of women.
At NXP, we value
diversity, equality and inclusion, and respect the unique talents, experiences, backgrounds, cultures and
ideas of our team members. We invite everyone to be their authentic selves at
work, without exception. This is what makes us who we are at NXP.
This year, the International Women's Day theme is "Break the Bias", which
encourages everyone to address biases, cultivate connections and foster a
collaborative, inclusive work environment where every team member feels valued
and comfortable being themselves, which builds trust and unlocks everyone’s
full potential.
From the nearly 70 International Women's Day events hosted by our Women in NXP
(WiN) employee resource group (ERG) to the integration of unconscious bias
training into our people development process, we invest in initiatives and
resources to drive cultural awareness and break the bias across the company.
Another specific example of our commitment is the launch of inclusion insights
to embed inclusive practices throughout our company every day. Culture change
happens over time and it requires intent and observed behavioral changes. As
NXP looks to foster a more inclusive culture within the company on a global
scale, inclusion must be a demonstrated part of our day-to-day activities.
An inclusion insight is a one-to-five-minute exchange about a specific
inclusion topic at the beginning of a meeting. They are intended to serve as
regular reminders to each of us about the importance of being inclusive at
work, at home and in all aspects of our lives.
Expected outcomes include better engagement, increased collaboration, high
performance and innovation. Inclusion creates an environment in which all team
members feel welcomed, valued, accepted, respected and included—and enables
everyone to perform at their best.
International Women's Day Global Round-Up
On March 1, President and CEO Kurt Sievers kicked off NXP’s International
Women's Day celebrations, encouraging team members to address biases,
cultivate connections and foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
He encouraged NXP team members to share their own Break the Bias pledges on
our special International Women's Day internal social media page, and invited
everyone to participate in 68 events, ranging from panels with leaders and
external speakers to virtual mentorship sessions, to on-site events, organized
by committed leaders and allies from our global Women in NXP (WiN) ERG.
Powered by Women in NXP
NXP’s WiN ERG focuses on valuing and leveraging the talents, contributions and
perspectives of women across the company. With chapters in the Americas, APAC
and EMEA, WiN hosts events dedicated to promoting and celebrating women’s
professional development and achievements throughout the year.
Bright minds. Bright futures. NXP team members create breakthrough technologies that advance our world.
The future starts here.
