Selection guide
Telematics on-board unit

Want to take the lead in the developing telematics market? Combining GNSS, mobile and advanced security technology, NXP's ATOP offers you a cost-effective route to implementing driver applications from road pricing to eCall and stolen vehicle tracking.

Easy and fast to design-in, ATOP enables On-Board Unit (OBU) vendors, telematics solution providers, tier 1 and OEM parties to offer a complete, flexible client product.

With ATOP you can create either single component ‘stand alone’ OBUs, dedicated to certified or authenticated services and applications, or front-ends for more advanced open service telematics platforms. These platforms can incorporate a variety of services including pay-as-you-drive, emergency / breakdown calling, stolen vehicle tracking and location based mobility services.

ATOP meets automotive industry standards and quality requirements in compliance with government requirements, and guarantees GSM certification.

A JAVA based multi-application software environment guarantees interoperability and secure co-existence of telematics applications. And RFID technology enables aftermarket self-installation while maintaining tamper evidence properties.
