NXP Austria is a center of excellence for cryptography and security, advancing solutions that make lives easier, better and safer. NXP Austria innovates hardware and software solutions as well as services for the IoT, automotive, Industry 4.0 and mobile sectors.
Know More About NXP in Austria
The Gratkorn location near Graz focuses on secure contactless identification systems with more than 800 team members working on innovative solutions in research, design, development, product management, marketing and application support.
The Austrian site contains NXP’s Center of Excellence for Cryptography and Security with experts dedicated to security-by-design into the automotive, IoT, Industry 4.0 and mobile domains. Various corporate functions are represented including finance and accounting, human resources and purchasing.

Cooperative Projects
Researchers, engineers and management at NXP Semiconductors Austria believe in the power of co-creation to overcome the challenges of fast time-to-market requirements and innovation leadership. We appreciate the complementary know-how of our academic and industrial partners in collaborative R&D projects and the financial support we receive from national and European research promotion agencies. NXP Austria proactively engages in technology development programs on the national and European levels including Horizon Europe, Chips JU, FFG, AWS, CD and JR Labs.
Industry Relations
We work with industrial peers and the government on issues important to our community and greater society. NXP is a shareholder of the Silicon Alps Cluster and a partner in the ACstryria Mobility Cluster as well as other platforms like FEEI, IV and ESBS Austria.
University Relations
NXP Austria promotes STEM education and supports new engineering careers with students from local institutions including TU Graz, FH Joanneum, TU Wien and Johannes Kepler Universität Linz.
Research Institutes
We are open for cooperations with research institutions like Joanneum Research, the Austrian Institute of Technology and Silicon Austria Labs in applied research.
Corporate Social Responsibility
NXP Austria supports the local community in many ways, including regular donations to the Red Cross and the fire brigade of Gratkorn. Other activities include organizing Christmas charity events, sponsoring sports events and providing local schools with IT hardware.
