Our material suppliers play an important role in achieving NXP Zero Defect quality expectations. The NXP global supplier quality team urges and supports our suppliers to make systematic and ongoing improvements to their products and processes through the following practices, resulting in the robust raw material needed to manufacture products with consistent performance.
Our suppliers are critical to the quality and predictable delivery of NXP products. In this relationship, we focus on partnering with and developing our key suppliers on important contributors to Total Quality. By developing our suppliers to move from reactive methods toward predicting and preventing quality issues, they provide more robust raw material supply to NXP which enables more consistent quality to our customers.
We go beyond standard evaluations supporting workers at all levels. Our risk assessment ensures our teams are not comprised of forced labor.
We use a Supply Quality Management (SQM) tool with a 'ship-to (receipt-to) control' module to help monitor and manage material incoming quality. Suppliers are required to submit their Certificates of Analysis (CofA) to the SQM electronically. If a material batch is detected to be outside of the pre-determined specifications or control limits, it is automatically rejected.
